Who we are

WindowKeeper is made by SquareCherries Ltd, which is responsible for this policy and for the data it describes.

What stays on your Mac

WindowKeeper records which apps are open, where their windows are, which documents, folders and terminal directories are open, and the URLs of your browser tabs. It writes this to JSON files in ~/Library/Application Support/WindowKeeper. None of it leaves your Mac.

What we never collect

No account, no analytics, no crash reporting and no tracking. The app makes no network requests except the Pro licence check below.

Pro licence checks

If you buy Pro, the app checks your licence key with Polar, which handles payment and licences, about once a day. The check sends the key and your Mac's name, so you can see and remove activated Macs. Polar's own privacy policy covers the payment.

This website

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Fonts load from Google Fonts. When you click Buy Pro, the checkout loads from Polar inside the page, and Polar handles your payment details under its own privacy policy.

Deleting your data

Quit WindowKeeper and delete the folder above. To deactivate a Mac, choose Deactivate Pro on this Mac… from the WindowKeeper menu.
